My Favorite Alaska Fishing Trips
My most memorable fishing trips all seem to involve lots of planning and even more gear. I'm always happiest when my feet are dry, my clothes are clean and my belly is full. To make the best of every trip I strive to fill all of these and leave the worry about the fishing to my guide. My guides have seldom let me down as I research these things to the point of total absurdity. Fishing fever just about defines the Alaska fishing experience. From dawn to dusk, and in Alaska that can make for an extended period of time, I fish until the sun goes down. I suppose this was inevitable, I come by this trait from my father who took his fishing very seriously.
One thing that remains constant in the memories from my past fishing trips is in the good guide and a clean well equipped dedicated Alaska fishing lodge. Not that they were all that fancy but what they were was experienced and well appointed with quality gear. This is essential and without compromise, fumbling with inferior gear is not only time consuming but frustrating as well. This is where the new bread of All Inclusive Alaska Fishing Lodges has raised the bar on quality trips.
